Heavy week and then Light week

had a question(s). doing pyramids for my workout and that has been going great. hit a bit of a wall so a friend of mine suggested doing a light week to work different muscle groups and get more form in.

so could i do a heavy week and then a light week and alternated the two week by week?

so by alternating this routine could i invariably build mass and strength but also somewhat tone?

thinking i could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

not looking to get crucified here but honest answers appreciated. thx:biggrin:
