heart rate

what is the ideal heart rate to train in. I did hiit today and i reached 230bpm is that too much? but shortly fell to about 170 for the avg.
 
mine is like, 75-85 resting, about 65 when i wake up...

when training its about 120-140 after an intense set, it prolly idles at 100 while training
when doin intense cardio (usually the stairmaster) it goes to 180.

i think 230 is alot.. ive never heard of a heart beating that fast for anything...
your heart is beating almost 4x per second...

has anyone else ever heard of that?
 
Heart rate doesn't matter. If you're trying to lose weight, it's calories in < calories out. Reverse the formula to gain weight. If neither of those is your goal, and you're just curious, then I'd just say not to worry about it.
