I have often thought of disappearing and starting new life in the Caribbean. Its a pleasant thought however Im not sure its feasible... Just wondering if anyone else has seriously thought about this?

it is "feasible." many many people "reinvent" themselves. i do not believe in geographical cures because you will have to take "you" with you. one would do well to make inward adjustments and when this is accomplished the world changes. if you are dissatisfied and you move to a tropical paradise, you will be living in a tropical paradise, dissatisfied and non the better.

No, you'll always be "stuck" with yourself, which is the most likely reason you want to disappear.
Not always..... I have been on the recieving end of some very very turbulent events in the past 2 years and perhaps a new beginning is whats needed

When I was sixteen I went to therapy because my mother was "worried" about me because I was acting like a typical teenager in the sense I didn't want to share with my parents. They gave me all the tests and the psychiatrist told me," Your personality is very balanced and resilient." The therapy focused on my mother.....:lmao:

I've thought it, and done it. Not as extreme as that, but I went somewhere with no job, no friends, nothing but a little saved money and started from scratch (if I had a dime for how many times I heard how "brave" I was when the truth was I was a big chickenshit)

Guess what? Life follows you.

New and fresh starts can be great. But if you're running from patterns in your life, you're only going to find the patterns repeating themselves eventually, only this time you don't have the support system you had before. it can be done...but make sure your motives are the right ones. If you're in a rutt or need a change of scenery or whatever, DO IT. But if it's because you're dissatisfied or unhappy with your life, it's a band aid on a wound that needs stitches.

this "therapist", and i use the phrase loosely, didnt see your psychotic, homicidal, cannibalistic, grandiose streak? either you are veeery good at masking your disorders or the medical board needs to review this "therapist" credentials.

He, the psychiatrist, did ask me a "glass house" question and what it meant to me. He also asked me about why I had two different answers for a question about who is to blame when someone steals your shit when you leave the window open. My answer, on one hand they are ultimately responsible for doing illegal shit and on the other it's my fault for allowing them easy access to steal my shit, knowing people are likely to steal your shit and still leaving an open door for it.
