Ever swam with the dolphins? I am heading back to the FL Keys in July with my b/f to go swimming with the Dolphins at the Dolphin Research Center. I did it when I was 12 and I was in HEAVEN. Truly one of the best experiences I've ever had. I am so excited to return and do it again! Those creatures are amazing.

Lmao. You're more likely to get killed in a car accident, killed walking down a street, beaten, stabbed, yada yada - then getting attacked by a dolphin.

I live in miami and spend alot of time on the water diving so ive been around dolphins quite a bit.There fun animals and your guarenteed a great time.

Sure are. Do you get close enough to touch them? I remember learning that if the dolphins are in the wild, there should be no form of contact. Some have such personalities, though! I remember we were on Hilton Head Island (off the coast of South Carolina) and a wild dolphin popped his head up a foot away from the side of the boat and then disappeared. I love them!

Yeah they use them a lot for that. I find animals are the best form of therapy. If I do child/adolescent therapy in the future, I am going to highly consider using an animal. I used to bring my dogs to the nursing home ( and once I brought them to the mental health facility that I volunteered at ) and the demeanor of EVERYONE always changes... I find that people totally open up and seem happier.

dolphins rule, almost as cool as penguins.

i remember swimming w/ them in hawaii when i was like 9 and cancun when i was like maybe 12.

the hawaii experience was much better if i recall. they let the dolphin swim you aorund while you hang onto it. felt like mushing huskies in water

those things are trained really well.

I have - my wife and I did last summer. It was fun. I felt bad for the dolphins - having to perform for our amusement. Althought when they pushed me out of the water using my feet - that was cool. Those babies were powerful as all hell.

That is always something I dreamt of doing. When I was in FL, I pet them, but never swam with them.

in the navy they would jump with the wake the ship made right along side us. i have lots of pics of it but unfortunately they are in a box somewhere. if i do find them ill post them. id love to swim with them. came close once at the beach but like IP said i was told not to touch them or go near them because it disturbs their environment.
