Has anyone ever ordered Exotic Meats from dealer?

I have been wanting to up my protein intake with something different and I have been wanting to try: Elk, Boar, Rattlesnake, Wild Turkey..... I was wondering if anyone has any experience in this?

Antelope is good as long as it has been handled and prepared right, if not it is foul and sinewy.

Elk is awesome.
Buffalo is so much better than beef.
Moose is like a gift from the gods.
Rattlesnake is like really chewy chicken.
Caribou has a mild flavor and can be overpowered easily.
Deer is good as long as they weren't around lots of sage brush.
Alligator is like a sweeter chewy chicken, really good in grilled strips or sausage.
Ostrich looks like beef but is really sweet.

That's a pretty good list, I didn't check that website but any of those are going to be a good experience if done right.

Most of them I got from friends. Never tried a mail order thing for meats just been a lot of different places and tried a lot of different things.

Fuck that! When you pheasant hunt around here quail are a little added bonus you get when you buy your hunting license. Some areas we have way too many of them. What sucks is cleaning a bird that small.

Fuck, I haven't dove hunted in over a decade. The limit here use to be 20, not sure what it is now. Easiest hunting ever, just sit in a field and they fly right over you. I remember cleaning them not being fun, and most of those fuckers don't die when you shoot them so you gotta break their neck. I also remember them being bleeders.

They have Hogs, Chickens, Whitetale, Mulies, Pheasants, Turkeys and those damn smelly Wild Goats also. though it's good in small appetizer quanitites.
buffalo steak is the shit, lotsa websites sell quarters and deliver.
wild turkey-gross, waay to gamey unless it's farm raised.

I was refering mainly to big commercial beef. I actually prefer beef for a steak as buffalo tends to be almost too lean for a good steak. I think it wins out for ground or strip cut for fajitas, stir fry, etc.

Yeah antelope is pretty much good for stew.

That's why my buddy and his family go moose hunting in Alaska. I'm going to give it my damndest to go with them next fall. It's pricy but not too bad considering you get several hundred pounds of moose even after giving some to the butcher to offset the costs.

Exactly. I laugh my ass off when people say beef isn't the best meat(for steaks like you said). There is a reason that we raise it, if wild game was better we would raise it. There are some beni's to other game, variety of taste is the main one but real beef(not walmart feedlot beef) is the best.
