has anyone ever had a cap

they told me they will have to file it down a few millimeters but that sounds painful
and will they give me some good drugs afterwards?

I have a crown on one of my front teeth. They ground my tooth into a little nub, put a temporary cap on it while the crown was being made, and then just glued the sucker on. The grinding process is awful. They just drill your tooth into nothing for an hour. It smells, there's tooth dust and chunks flying everywhere, just awful. I'm just glad mine looks good. I'd be pissed if you could tell I have a crown after that boolshit.

I have a crown, not a cap, so it could be different. They might just need to kind of resurface your tooth so the cap will hold. My nub looked like I was Sloth from Goonies.

My doc always gives me 1 script and 1 refill everytime he has to do "anything" other than clean my teeth.

I've been going to him since i was 6.

I have two, and need two more.

I had great teeth all my life, always got compliments from the dentist about how strong and healthy they were. Then a few years ago I had a molar crumble when I was chewing some ice. Okay, I'm a habitual ice-chewer... Didn't feel it happen, didn't find any of the pieces. Must've swallowed them. I noticed it when I found it with my tongue. "Hey, what's that jagged space where my tooth used to be???"

Couple of years later I accidentally bit a fork and cracked one of my front teeth. It didn't break but the dentist said it had to be crowned.

The molar crown was easy. I accepted it as a real tooth by the next day after it was put in. The incisor, though, still feels fake to me, I hate it. And the color isn't quite right, despite spending over an hour at the technician's shop with him hand-tinting it trying to make it match.

And the temporary crowns they give you while your permanent one is being made suck ass. When you have a crown done, they take a mold of your teeth, then cut away the tooth that needs to be fixed, then take another mold of your teeth so they'll have a good cast of the stub. Then they make up a quickie temporary crown, stick it on your tooth, and send you on your merry way with an appointment to come back the next week to have the permanent one installed. They don't use strong glue on the temporary ones, and they have a tendency to come off. And they don't put any effort into making the temp ones look good.

I have two more molars that the dentist found cracks in, I need to get them crowned before they break, but I keep procrastinating.

my mom said i prob will have to have a root canal
those things scare me, i remember when hotzie had his wisdom teeth took out and he whined for months about it cuz it hurt and he got a dry socket

a dry socket really hurts. My fella just had one. Dry socket is a risk when a tooth is pulled, not with a root canal. I have had 2 root canals and two crowns. They really were no big deal, not much pain and you get yummy, yummy vicodin. lol. Just relax. =-)

lol i hurt my knee somehow and this woman at wrok asked me if i wanted vicodin and i said yesss
and then she said well i have muscle relaxers too but your knee is ajoint not a muscle
and i said well bring one anyway and ill try it out, my knee has been killing me

and i believe that you can get a dry socket when u get a root canal, i dont really remember
