Has anyone ever been to Dubai? The architecture is out of this world

My best friend lives there (goes to college here). The things they are doing there are so mind blowing. I don't possess the mastery of words necessary to describe that place.

I would love to travel there however is it safe? I was thinking of booking a trip in January....

That is one place I would really like to go see.

The island is the first of 3. I think the other two are supposed to be palm trees. flanking the world island.

I have been throwing out resumes to companies hiring near there and the U.A.E.

MM do you have any good websites for the area or pictures of the architecture?

If by "Dubai" you mean "The San Francisco Gay Bathhouse District".

Then, yes ... Java's been there. :rainbow:

It sounds very safe from what I hear. Incredibly tourist friendly as well. It sounds like a really decadent version of say an American city. The club scene is supposed to be unmatched. The architecture alone is enough to make me want to visit there one day.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm sure the hotel has some fine middle eastern chicks. I'll hold out for them when I go.

i guess i'm lucky. i have 2 cousins that are married to dudes who live there (large indian community, mostly in trading/import/export i think). the wealth is absurd, from what i've heard. i'm one of the few from our group of family/friends that hasn't been, i think.

I've been to Dubai, and I stayed at the sail boat looking hotel too. Crazy thing is built off the actual coast.

Tiger Woods was staying there and was hitting golf balls off the helicopter pad. Second time I ended up @ the same hotel as him. Bizzarre coincidence, I don't even like golf.

You are stalking him. I've seen that video. Link it bro. Oh yeah didn't you eventually get stuck there for two weeks in Saudi too. :) Some little airline mishap or something
?

I have never been but one of my clients has 2 buildings there and they look AMAZING from the pics I have seen. Happening area too! Up and coming.

Something about some airplanes crashing into buildings back in NY, and crashing into the ground in PA and shit....

Who knows.

ya i have a travel agent she booked our honeymoon to italy and then were gonna hit up santorini some time soon too..

anyhow 1600 a night seems rather steep not to mention everything else has to be ungodly priced.. i'd rather not have to spend 10+ grand on a 4 day vacation..

It's a mecca for little Russian whores , so maybe there'll be some room service included in that tab

You have to be Hilton rich to play over there

I hear the only thing that rivals their architecture is the Human Rights Issues.

If you guys have traveled to UAE for reasons other then vacation, what did you job require you to travel there for?
