Bursitis of the elbow? i believe i have got it at the moment. out of no where last wednesday night i look down and my elbow is swollen about the size of a golf ball with a what feels like fluid substance. It really has no pain. Curious if anybody here has had it and what they did for it. Pretty sure i'm going to have to get it drained, but afraid the Dr. is going to tell me to stop lifting for some time. Let me know.....

Hello, I had this at about age 12 or 13? My elbow was about the size of a grapefruit by the time it became infected. I did not even notice it until it was a serious issue, but it seemed to crop up over night.

I was given two IM injections in the glutes and that was all I needed... if that DIDN'T work however I was going to be hospitialized and lanced before they needed to take my left arm.

That being said, I have been lanced for two smaller infections when I was young and scalpeled once. It really isn't as bad as you think, if they need to squeeze (scalpel) then it helps to bite down on something. I would get it done ASAP. If you were luckier than me, you might just get something OTC.

Yeah lots of infections as a kid but my parents used wayyyy too many antibiotic drugs on me
