Hard gainer needs set/rep advice.

Lifted

New member
Just wondering what set/rep combo seems to work the best. Also how many exercises per body part?

Thanx in advance

Keep it simple:

heavy and intense with good form. Also eat a lot of good food and get plenty of rest: As for reps:

3 sets x 5-8 reps per exercise

I second that ...but i would also add only do 1-2 exersices per bodypart.....a total of 4-6 sets.
THE REASON 99% OF ALL weight lifter don't even look like they lift is they do too many sets!

Concentrate of these five exercises.

Deadlifts
Squats
Bench Presses
Military Presses
Pullups

Forget about isolation movements. Each week try to add some weight to the bar or more reps.

For reps and set try higher reps for deadlifts and squats 12-20 range. For upper body 6-10 reps. One warmup set followed by one or two work sets.

Look into the sites below for training reality.

HIT training seems to work well for a period of time with hardgainers. But like everyone else said, keep it very basic and
simple.

I don't believe in that hardgainer shit. I've seen some super-skinny people put on a lot of mass, including me come to mention it. It's a self defeating label.

You have to find out what works for you, reps/sets wise. Seriously.

Boss 101 gives good advice.
