Hard drive problems

I can't clean up my hard drive. Everytime I try to, the operation freezes up while scanning the compressed files. Do I need to replace it? Is there any thing I can do to it?

Before you fdisk, copy your files to another partition so you don't lose everything. You can format that drive later after you get your primary up and running. I forgot to do that last time and I'm still loading stuff on that I lost.

If you're running NU2000, SpeedDisk locks up on larger HD units especially when they start to get a lot of data on them.

NU hasn't fixed this, but the way to stop it from happening is to set the options on date sorting to QUARTERLY or higher. Anything more restrictive will repeat the problem.

I did this and the problem stopped.
