did you see the room of richter's 1977 series at the MOMA in ny? they are absolutely INCREDIBLE! i have two books of his paintings... they also have a few richter paintings at the AGO in toronto.

my other favourite room at the MOMA was on the same floor i think... all of these photographers that i love together in this little in-between room that japanese guy who takes pics of movies in theatres that are time-based... and that eva ewa? who takes the slightly blurry photos that are almost voyeuristic... and that south american guy who appropriates pictures by redrawing them with chocolate and stuff like that... oh and this video by penelope rist i think her name was...

oooh and at the new museum when i was there there was a retrospective of adrian piper and at one of the chelsea galleries there was a new cindy sherman, another had that huge show of what's his face's work (shark tank guy)...

it's crazy i can't even remember the names of the artists i love anymore (not shark tank guy)... part of it is i'm tired trying to remember those names now.

anyway.... :) memory lane.

maybe bc we don't have a life outside the gym or the computer, so enlighten us on the Fine Arts, please. :goof:

yes, i just don't feel like I know shit about anything artsie, ya know? I like Van Gogh, and Salvador Dahli, otherwise, I know shit about artists.

then educate yourself. there's lots of stuff on the internet that explainst the artist's motivation for making his/her work.
