Decided to redo the middle BR back into a home office.....bought furniture & painted.... (Velvett you'd be proud of me!)

Then to continue the home improvement jaunt, I had an argument with the hall closet door, which lost.....need a new door.....then I decided to rip up the carpet in the hall as it was gross.....then, hmmmm, what's under the paneling?? Ripped that down...Dirty crappy plaster.....3 sheets of drywall & 1 bucket of mud later.....Still need more mudding..... ;)

I just  drywalling & spackling....looks good so far tho....

I love to give a girl a good spacking.

Be sure to wet sand that crap or you'll have powder all over the house.

Well, I did a thin enough 1st coat not to need to sand.....may not need to sand the 2nd coat either.....trying to keep it thin so I don't have to sand much....

G-man -- Can't imagine having to do this all day...... I'm good at it, but just don't like doing it (the drywall & spacking you pervs!)

I just hate the dry, dusty feeling on my hands...... but yes, it's not bad, but wouldn't want to do it everyday unless I could wear those stilts you guys have....they are cool....

Can you come over?? I need some finish carpentry work done....

sounds fun.....i had some little projects to do today.....and of course, ends up i can't find my fucking drill which i need.....i think maybe a maintenance guy stole it...yay

i love doing that stuff.
jen... you really do need to sand it. once the paint is up, you'll see where you spackled- the glossier the paint the more it shows. get one of those green scrubby pads from the store and use it wet, very lightly, then use a damp sponge to smooth it.

Get with the program sis.

Drywall os OK.

Much cooler though.....hang marble, granite, and travertine/limestone.

Just bought a 2hp saw that will do 18" tiles.

Good times ahead.

Thinking about doing the stair steps in travertine/limestone with marble sides.

Granite kitchen counters.

I could easily spend 50K remodeling the house. Easily.

Yea....wet sand that drywall and you do need to sand it. The dust is highly abrasive and highly pervasive. Killed my diamond studded watch good.

This is a picnic compared to grinding cement. That work just flat sucks.

If you need a place to stay on the western side of town while skiing colorful Colorado........................................................................................

I'm sure we could.....ahem....work something out.

Yea....work..something...out. Ahem.

j/k

maybe not

Did you tape the seems? I hope so. If so, did you use paper or mesh or both?

Of course I taped the seams!! I used self-stick mesh tape till I ran out then used the paper tape...... duh....

And I KNOW I have to sand eventually.........but if you put on each coat thin enough then you don't have to sand till the finish coat......then prime....check for spots, spackle if needed, sand, prime again, then paint..... This isn't the first time I've hung drywall people....

Tell me about it. Living hell. The kitchen floor heating festival was crete dust hell, grinding out the first float was the heaviest dust storm I have ever seen.

Jen, why are you not using the title i bestowed upon you?

Which title is that??

Plus, I couldn't stand to look at the paneling any more -- know what I mean??

1 more closet left to do. Then we have to borrow a floor jack to jack up the DR floor as it's sunk in a certain spot....

Anyway, work around the house doesn't count as work-work....

GL -- let me know when you are free and I will tentatively pencil you in. You supply all the materials, food & beer, and gas.....

What kind of tool did you use?

I have used 24", 7" and 4 1/2". Diamond blades get with the program but wear one out.
