hammer strength equipment

I'm starting a new HST routine and I'm thinking of adding the the hammer strength for incline and flat chest work. With out a partner the db's are getting tough on incline and I ahve to avoid injury at all cost. I am also thinking of adding the low pulling row that hammer strength has. How do you guys feel about the equipment and its effects? Should I re-think this? Here is a comparison.

squats X 2 Squats
SLDL's X 2 DL's
leg ext X1 Pull -Ups
Lat Pulls Wide X2 Low Pull hammer strength
Bench Pull Close grip X2 Inc hammer
Inc Db X2 Regualr hammer
flat SB X1 Calf Riases
calf raises Hammer strength Military press
Hammer strength Shoulder press X2 rear lateral cables
rear lateral raise db X1 Skull crushers
skull crushers X2 sb push downs
rope push downs X1 preacher curls
preacher curls x2 spider curls
alt db curl X1 wrist curls-rope/weight
db 4-arm curls X1 SB shrugs
DB Shrugs X1

Hammer Strength is some of the best equipment, your lucky you are able to use it. Take advantage of it, it works. My gym back home has a few machines and they really helped. Here at school, I dont have access to them. Plus what harm will trying it for a week do? If you dont like, switch back.

well if i do it it will be for at least 6 weeks. i'm just trying to get soem feedback if people like the results of hammer strength compared to free weights. if it is comparable i'll definitely do it...if i am going to go backwards in progress then i'll find something else.

As far as machines go I love the hammer strength line. It seems whenever I switch from freeweights to machines I always lose size and strength. Ill incorporate hammer strength presses into my chest routines but never replace freeweight with them. I like them as finishers. When I first injured my back and could finally do some pressing, I used the hammer strength machines for a while and no benching. The workouts felt good, but it seemed my chest wasnt coming back to size and strength wasnt translating to the freeweight. 6 weeks is a long time, and alot can be lost in that period. This is just my experience though. Right now Im using hammer strength rowing machines for my back to avoid the excess strain of freeweight and that seems to be working pretty well though. Id reccomend you find a way to use a freeweight barbell or dumbbells for chest work. If you work in a commercial gym you should be able to call down some spots. Even if it can be annoying. I think the results will be worth it though. With freeweight your using all the stabilizer muscles to control and support the weight where as with machines the plane of movement is fixed and doesnt require stabilization. Personally Ill stick with freeweight aslong as I can, if no injuries are preventing me. KEEP KILLING THAT SHIT!!

That is what i was thinking...there are these do guys that are pretty big and all they do is hammer strength for chest but it also seems like they only train chest and arms so it might be the frequency more then then equipment. Thanks for the in put.

No problem brother!! Some people also grow much easier then others. I was never so fortunate. Really have to KILL THAT SHIT for every tiny fragment of muscle gain, and have to stay ontop of it constantly to even keep it. Thats why freeweight will always be the route for me. Plus its alot more satisfying. Keeps me motivated throughout the week. Keep us updated on the routine!

sounds good. like beast and i said, hammer strength's are incredible.good luck

I love the Hammer Strength Hi-pulldown, wide chest and behind neck press machines. They are staples of my routines after the free weights and some times I'll hit them hard first for a change. The only machines I'll use.

personally hate them. i hate all the back machines. i do kind of like the shoulder one.. did a full hammer routine when i was sick with a cold and didnt feel like lifitng free weights. but other wise id rather lift real weight goin against pure gravity, and not a hinge and gravity.

i figure, they didnt have them back in the day, and those people did fine w/o them, so i wont use them. plus there in a seperate part of the gym on a diff floor. id be too lazy to go back and forth :)
