Here is what I have done with success
How many hours are you awake for each day?
Divide that number by 6.
3 of your meals will be whole foods divided into 3 fist sized portions.
The 3 leftover meals will be snack meals/shakes/whatever.
Whats a whole food?
Rice, pasta, bread, meat, fish, chicken, beans, oats, eggs, etc
I follow the same guidelines to bulk except I eat 2 fist sized portions at every meal.
