how long does ur hair need to be on the sides for them to cut it with the skizzors?

i tried to go this route once and the lady said i'd have to let it grow way out, which i didnt wanna do bc i didnt know how it'd look and didnt wanna look homeless while i was tryin to grow it

ive gotten a 2 on the sides as long as i can remember but wanna go with something like how the dude from best damn sports show wears it (its a little longer than in the pic but the only pic i could find)

any one sport somethin similiar to this?

i think a tad more and she'd be able to use scissors...my guy always uses scissors...and my hair isnt much longer than yours at all. the buzzers are kinda 80's out

i am growing mine out right now as well, from my experience it also depends on the barber and how competent they are using scissors vs. the buzzer. More expensive barbers always cut my hair with scissors and buzzer in some places but scissors on top .

Mine will be like that in about 3 more weeks.

I have what my hair stylist calls a 'sport' cut, kinda like Beckham (sp?) not more than half an inch long - she uses scissors all the way, no machines at all.
I remember I came to a barber shop while vacationing and asked to cut my hair short but with scissors, and the chick the barber looked at me like I landed from Mars - her argument was she had to thick fingers to make a close cut with scissors. I laughed my ass off - it all depends on aptititude of the barber, I have personal stylist, and God bless her she's great - no machines anywhere.

i had one lady tell me i'd have to grow it wya out to get a scissor cut too, thats why i never went with it

uh.. thats not a scissor cut lol... he has his head shaved there. Back on topic though, you have the right kinda face to pull off short hair. Grow it out a bit then go in to a reputable stylist and have it razor cut on the top and possibly the sides too... I'm not a fan of tapering at all... the bottom can be cleaned up by styling correctly.
