HaHa, I got a new job!!!!

Hello All,

Well, last year I left a good job as a Conference & Banqueting Manager to train as a Business and Economics teacher. Tired of doing 70 - 80 hours a week in a hotel and having no life. So, went back and re-trained. Spent the past 6 months trying very hard to get a good Full-Time teaching job. Was looking bleak as term starts next week. Well, yesterday I delivered the goods!!! Off to "West Country" in England. Its the area of England thats in the South East and its beautiful. So, bags packed and I'm on my way!!!

Finally, can't resist a parting shot at all the neighbours that gave me alot of hassle in my city here...BASTARDS!!!!! At least I'll never see you all again and I won't miss you either!!!

Thanks to all the Bros who gave me alot of encouragement while I was experiencing tough times, especially awittyusername, Jayc, and jnevin. Nice one guys!!!

It was right in the centre of England, past the midlands. Big MoFo of a place with lots of weddings, banquets, dinner dances etc. 4 Star Hotel and was part of an independent chain of 4 other hotels. Nice place, but a bunch of shit-bags!!! Won't put their name up as I won't give them any publicity!!!

The independent chain answered my question. I work in the hospitality industry, so I'm always curious to see what other people think.

How old are your students? adults? teenagers?

He came to our hotel for a week-end with his wife. He called me over on Sunday and said "You know what Riverrock, its not just you who works harder than me, its everyone in this place"!!! I teach Business and Economics to Aged group 11 - 18.

I will have to admit I don't work as hard as the hotel staff. I work for the legal department of the owner of at least 5 chains. They expect the same level of hard work at headquarters. I will say, the employees are some of the nicest people I have ever worked with. A big change from my first job (legal dept. in the financial industry).

I'm hoping to change careers myself next summer. Again good luck and keep us updated.
