Ugh...longest two days of my life. I'm soooooo tired. After all the pre-hotel drama, I get down there and the friggin' holiday inn has overbooked by 30 rooms! So they send me all over b'ham for a new room. Nice enough, they paid for everything for the inconvenience. Went to the bar at outback (across from the hotel) to eat a sweet pot and chicken...and boy oh boy did I get my fill on the hillbillies. Kind of felt like I was talking to klu and aap again. 
I knew I was in alabama when I saw a girl and guy walk out of the food joint with no shoes on. Gross.
All in all it was good. Just very long and tiring. Glad to be back home.
