Gyno surgery update

Bump for the insurance coverage question.

Also, how long before you can lift? How long before you can go back to work? Did he give you one of those compression vests to wear?

Well I basically told my doc that it hurt and I have had it ever since puberty but it's been geting worse. Thye sent me to a general surgeon, we talked and decided the best route would be to go through a plastic surgeon (for cosmetic reasons) I was only off lifting for just over a week and I was back at work 4 days after. I didn't get a compression vest as he said I didn't need one. He did say to go buy one of those tight spandex shirts and just wear that. The pain with me was VERY minimal so I was/am very happy overall with the surgery (minus the hemotoma of course)

re: insurance

i am in canada so it may be different up here, but anyways..
i asked my doc about gyno (puffy nipples at the time) when i was pretty young, like 13 at the oldest, i was always embarrassed to take my shirt off and shit so i asked him abhout it, he said "just puberty, it will go away".. as i got older it got worse, and when i was about 17 i started getting into working out and whatnot... never did do roids but have done lots of supplements and i got pretty cut by the time i was 19 i think.. while i was that lean the nipples just looked horrible so i went back to the doc, i said it was embarrassing and they were a bit itchy and bothered me.. he sent me to a surgeon and i got the surgery. didnt pay anything, took about an hour in the hospital, stayed away from the gym for a couple weeks and then i was back at er.

say it hurts, say they are itchy, worth a shot.

Lack of compression vest was probably the cause of the hematoma. Did you have drains put in? I had two drains in for about 5 days after the surgery- along with a compression vest. After that- my chest looked great, but I gave it a good 4 weeks before I hit the gym. On the insurance issue- just tell the doc its a quality of life issue, that the situation is getting worse and your uncomfortable- should be 100% covered- mine was.

I was only in the hospital for about 4 hours after surgery was finished. I didn't have the drains put in. The funny thing is, right after the surgery I had a look and they looked good from what I saw but about an hour later the left one swelled up like a balloon. My surgeon said they should not have let me leave if they noticed it but I didn't say anything as I thaught it was normal, My mistake.
