Somebody made a good point in an earlier post. Getting gyno removal covered by insurance will get you to a normal surgeon. Someone who has no interest in making it look "nice". Things may very well turn out okay, who knows. Why take the chance?
Pain and cancer will get it covered by my INS. and they do have plastic surgeons on the plan which will perform the procedure to make it look nice as well.
I just had gyno surgery yesterday, didn't use gear, I had it as a result of puberty. My insurance covered it, but yes, make sure you tell the doctor that it's causing you pain.
Recovery after gyno surgery depends on the original problem, surgical technique, surgeon's skills, how you heal, and other factors. Gynecomastia sculpture is surgery with a zone of injury needing time to become stronger. Healing tissue does not like too much stress during the early phases. It can put a crimp on vigorous training for a variable amount of time. It can be shorter or longer than 6 weeks, but that is a good starting point. Comfort is a great guide just as to how much you can stress this healing tissue.
