Gym peeve

Just wanted to vent...

Is anyone else sick of watching half the gym of skinny or fat losers load up the leg press and then proceed to do partials (2 inches up...2 inches down). I'm in the gym yesterday and a TRAINER (yes, a trainer) has her FEMALE clients pressing as much as me (I'm 5'8'' tall, 210 pounds). I had 7 plates on and was doing heels to ass. These women get on with knee wraps and put their hands on their knees and are coming down only a few inches. These are fat saggy chicks. Their trainer is acting all proud like "wow, look how strong my client is".

I dying to challange one of these losers to do ONE HONEST REP. HEELS TO ASS.

Same for this one guy. Loads the wrack up completely (full on both sides and fills the top as well...nearly 1000 pounds). Then does these weak ass partials.

Drives me nuts...

Bad-form squats are what drives me nuts.

But, all of this is why I find these "How much can you bench" threads to be a bunch of BS. Depending upon form, there can be SO much variation in the amount of weight a person can move.

Bench presses, and also CURLs are great examp[les of this.

I see guys curling like 60 lbs with shitty form, and if these assholes were given a 30 lb dumbbell and made to NOT rock back-and-forth, keep their arms in, etc .. then they would be toast quickly.

If you want to lose my respect quickly, and just annoy the hell out of me, send me an Instant Message and ask "Hey Bro, how much do ya bench?"

LOL

I like the guys that have a bit of muscle and are fairly strong, but feel that they need to walk around with their arms sticking out while they look at themselves in the mirror. It's called ILS. Imaginary Lat Syndrome...it affects those that are big enough to look like a bodybuilder, yet too small to walk around like Ronnie Coleman.

You mean like the guys that look like they have spent hours studying how the WWF wrestlers walk down the ramp into the ring and then try to immitate that when they walk?

:lmao: :lmao: This is Shaq!! That guy walks around with his arms out like he's huge. (he's big but not in a bb kinda way)
"ummmm dewd you have no lats. Stop trying to be tough and put your arms back to the sides".

Never thought of it like that...but, yep. That's exactly what they look like. These guys would almost be as big as they think they are if they'd quit looking in the fucking mirror and do another set.

as you all probably know

proper form is essential for muscle growth. I hate it when there are those dumb fucks in the gym that have the curl bar loaded up and they are swinging their body to life this fucking huge amount of weight. Using every muscle in their body then acting like they are the shit for doing it.

I am strong for my size and this guy was probably 20lbs bigger then me and well built. I just had to walk up and ask to jump in. I did a set of 8 with perfect form. Then asked him if he could do it without throwing his whole body around like a jackass to get the wait up. He tried and got pretty pissed when he couldn't.

That is my pet peeve too.

Rotorobot - I am with you, if you aren't going to do the exercise right don't do it at all. But the other part of that is the poor trainers, there are a couple of trainers in my gym that are complete tools, no gym etiquette at all. Pathetic!
