i am 35 years old female with 18 year history of eating disorders. my dietitian has me up to 1300 cals a day. i am doing moderate cardio ie exercycle/elliptical for 20mins 4 times a week, weight training moderate intensity 3-4 times a week (have to be careful as i have osteoporosis) and usually try to walk about 8-10miles a week

i am GAINING on this number of cals! i had a big jump in weight a couple of weeks after i started doing weights which my dietitian wrote off as muscle gain and replenishment of glycogen, but i am puzzled and stressed to still be gaining on 1300 cals a day

also, i have read that the way to chiselled arms is light weights with 20 reps..is that for real?

my goals are definition and maybe some mass (not too much) on shoulders and calves to get into proportion. i tend to build lower body strength much easier than upper body, despite history of competitive swimming.
