i like gunter, but hes no Mr.O in my opinion.

Of course he's no Mr.O. He burst onto the scene as a possible future champion, but has not come close to meeting the potential he was originally predicted to have. Two Olympias ago he finished 5th and it was a disgrace. He was full of water and by his own admissions made very poor judgement in relation to his diet....and finished 5th. No way was he 5th. He was lucky to be in the top 10. I rate his as a very good BB, but would never consider him as a future Mr.O

I do agree that the sport has taken a turn for the worst. I was backstage with Ronnie at my last show, he is definitely in his 3rd trimester. Something needs to be done. You're even seeing pretty bad bloated guts at state shows now.

That's farcical. Will be interesting to see if the "rule changes" this year do anything, but weren't they always supposed to judge on overall appearance and symmetry anyhow? Hard to see what the judging changes are if thats the case.

Agreed. It won't change any of the top placings. I think it will affect the middle tier guys if any. Maybe the difference between 6th and 7th, not 2nd and 3rd.

I think big changes will happen. It might not be this year, or next, but soon enough. Too many deaths, too much heat and pressure. It's all falling apart now, and when all is said and done there will be no need for the mass monsters like Ronnie and Jay. Especially now that David Pecker of AMI is running most of it. He is a business man and wants to make money, bodybuilding will not make the kind of money he wants unless the changes take place. It's not a question of if it will happen, it's just a matter of when.

has neone seen pics of jay this year, hes only competing for this show. i really hope is comes in great. he can do a great vaccuum pose for his size. i am reallying hoping for him to come in perfect. I like the idea of more symmetical guys. but mr. O just seems a little different. good luck to all, and i will talk to Jay next March at the Arnold.
