Gun people, I need some help locating an accessory

I have a Chinese Norinco SKS rifle with bayonet and a 40 round magazine. The magazine is brand new and the spring is so tight that I can only shove 28 rounds in the thing. I know there's a tool that holds the spring down while you load. I've searched all over the web and I can't find one to fit my 40 round SKS magazine. Also, is there a way to loosen it up?

Are you sure it is the spring and not the follower?

I would bet it is the follower is jamming around part of the curve.

I would stick to 20 and 30 rounds magazines in the future, but I'll look around for you.

Those easy loaders are for detachable magazines. My magazine is sort of permanently attached. I had to take it to a gun smith to have him attach it. It took him an hour of pounding on shit with a hammer and shouting profanity to get the magazine on it. It's an after market magazine.

You do realize how much fouling and dirt are going to get into that thing don't you? Can you remove the floorplate to clean it at least?

I looked around and the easiest way to load that magazine is with stripper clips.

I am assuming it is aluminum and the body may have been dented during install causing the follower to hang.

I would say just shoot the mag for awhile and see if the spring loosens up.

Also, keeping the magazine loaded will help wear down the spring.

What in the world do you use a rifle with a bayonet for? Never seen anyone hunting with one of those, and it isn't exactly handy for self defense I wouldn't think. Just curious...

A bayonet may prove very handy in self defense don't you think? I would bet he has just a bayonet mount. I have a rifle with a bayonet mount. Haven't bought a bayonet for it just yet.

Why in the world do people need botox, boob, calf, chest or ass implants? Why would someone with clear thought ever consider letting a doctor cut them open and stick a vacuum inside of them?

If it is just the spring, leaving the mag fully loaded will start to cause the spring to relax some.
