does anyone know if you can just go to your doctor and have him take a couple x rays to find out if your epiphyseal plates have closed? I want to see how much more i'm going to grow, and if i have a 2-3 inches left i'm gonna hld out on my cycle of sus/dbol/eq. How much would it cost to have this checked by the way? I was thinking i could just have health insurance pay for it by saying i hurt my ankle and get a couple x-rays and then when the doctor tells me my ankle is fine ask him how much room it looks like i have left to grow. just an idea

As a male, your growth plates close at 18. As a female, they close around 16. Past that age, no drug/supplement/compound will cause you to grow taller.

Still though - past 16-18 years no drugs will affect the growth plates, and even if they will, the effects will be absolutely minimal. Therefore, there is nothing to worry about.

off topic a bit but I wanted to chime in and say the whole closing growth plates if you lift weights is ignorant. people always say that nonsense and it isn't true, weight training is actually one of the safest sports a teen can do.

the best way to effect growth would be to break bones playing sports like football, hockey, etc. that are very dangerous. weight training if done correctly, is very safe !

This is completely true. It is an old wives tale that lifting weights as a teen will make you shorted. Weight bearing exercises will only help strength the bones by increasing calcium deposition.

That's why seniors who are at risk of osteoporosis are recommended to do weight bearing exercises.
