Any word on this??? I still feel bad every time I go to the store knowing all these people have been outta work on 200/wk strike pay for this long...

any news?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

But I do remember a few years back a local chain of grocery stores went on strike. they were out for MONTHS. Anyway. No one really gave a shit about them, and I remember feeling bad for them

Thanks.

i live in so cal. this has been going on so long most people have lost sympathy for the strikers. it is too inconvenient to run around town looking for places to shop. i stopped going to Vons for a couple months but i am now shopping there. everyone seems to be taking this attitude.

i feel sorry for the grocerystore workers who have to spend their shifts outside holding a picket sign while making less money. however, it is a competitive world and the chains are trying to remain competitive with the threat of Wal Mart supercenters moving in.

i hate to sound cold, but grocery workers are not exactly highly skilled workers who should command high salaries. they have decent paying jobs for what they do with the union. noone owes you anything in this world.

I think that the Grocery store chains are just waiting the strikers out so that they can get rid of it all together. From what I understand, there is a minumum amount of time that has to go by before the Companies can leave the union and go regular. But that may be wrong.

you are right claudio. that is what i was referring to. they STILL should be thrilled with what they have now.

Their strike pay is about to be cut in half. They're gonna cave in soon. I've been going to Ralph's but I will cross soon. It sounds like what they're being asked to pay is reasonable.
