i feel wierd when all they do is just stand there and greet you. maybe because i hate acknowledging people at the store, i just wanna get my groceries and get the fuck out as quick as possible.

Exactly.
Restaurants have hosts/hostesses. This I expect and can deal with. But the grocery store is a CHORE, not a luxury. I want to be in and out with as little human contact as possible. Especially with that creepy little ex-con they hired recently. I swear if he ever decides to get lippy with me, I will kick him in the shins soooo fucking hard.

thats why ive been shopping at krogers food store. they have automated check outs, you scan it, you sack it, you pay for it, you leave.
its good because so far not many people use because thier too stupid. so im usually in and out without so much as even looking at an employee.

Yeah but you're paying those ppl to sack the groceries for you. Plus here ppl seem to think "my my, so novel, I can do this myself" and get a trill out of it and the regular lines are shorter.
Eventually the grocery clerk and bag boy will be a gone job, like the gas station attendant; once the population learns they can do it themselves. Except in places like NJ, where its illegal to pump your own gas, to make jobs for ppl who cant get any other

you can only go thru it if you have 15 items or less. i dont see the clerk and sacker losing thier jobs in the future, most people wont shop there if you have to wait behind a moron scanning and sacking two cart loads of groceries. we will still need the faster and more efficient clerk and sacker for most of the checkouts.

you know whats even more annoying? i went to subway lastnight and was giving my order and the whole time this dumbass bitch(older lady) was making my sandwich as if she was put out or something. and the bitch didnt even say thankyou when i paid.
