Grip Strength

ChinkNasty

New member
what would yall recommend for increasing grip strength...I refuse to use straps on my deadlifts and I think that weakness in my grip strength is holdin' me back...

Static holds? I ain't plannin' on using COC grippers so lets hear some ideas fellas

thanks,
CN

static holds definitely. since you don't want to hear about CoC's....too bad! i use them for static holds as well, so there. ;) farmers walks would help your deadlift and your grip too.

No grippers? I use them for timed holds.
Pinch gripping plates
Eagle Talons
Thick Bar Work
Softball grip work
Farmers Walks
Hangs from a chin bar

farmer's walks do wonders
static holds with DBs and deadlift rack holds
hanging from a pull-up bar
working with a thick bar

If you don't want to add in extra grip work into your routine (although I highly recommend it), you can always just work it into what you already do. On the last rep of all your pull-up sets, hang there for as long as you can. On the last rep of all your shrug sets, hold the bar/DBs til you can't hold anymore. On the last rep of your DL sets, hold the bar until your grip fails. Repeat.
