apparently none of you ladies and gentlemen have ever heard any wayne krantz :)

Wayne krantz is good, but have any of you ever heard slash play by himself...freaking amazing.....but each guitar player has his own different style so its hard to say who the best is....page, hendrix, clapton, all good....then of course there is johnny lang

:teleport:

There truly is no . . . best. When you think one guitarist is better there are 100 more out there that are just as good.

But my favorites would be:

George Lynch
Steve Ray Vaughn
Kenny Wayne Sheppard
Eddie Van Halen
Jimmy Page
Yngiwe Malmsteen
Jimmy Hendrix
Craig Goldie (off of Dio's Dream Evil CD)

Just off the top of my head and in no particular order.

I agree. There are too many different genres, different styles to say that one is "the best."

Ahhhh . . . Holdsworth. I forgot about him. I still own Wardenclyffe Tower. I need to get more music from him.

Shame on me.:)

Oh yeah . . . Rit's cool too.

too many different styles to be able to name the 1 guy who is the "greatest" alot of great players have already been mentioned but I have known some fantastic players no one has ever heard of. some of my personal favorites in no particular order:

Rock/Blues:
Yngwie Malmsteen
Randy Rhodes
Michael Schenker
Ritchie Blackmoore
Eddie Van Halen
Stevie Ray Vaughn
Vivian Campbell
Steve Vai
Joe Satriani

Jazz/Fusion:
Al DiMiola
Eric Johnson

many others...
:)

That's exactly what I'm saying. You just named more guitarist that would make my list of favorites. There's way to many to mention.

Buck Owens......formerly of Hee Haw....

best damn guitarist, and vocalist ever.

:D

Seriously, too many good ones, with too many different styles..........Sometimes it's Stevie Ray V, sometimes it's Hendrix,

SRV smokes hendrix in the talent department, don't get em wrond, I like Jimmie, but Ive never seen anyone top SRV, watch one of his concerts (when he was sober) and you'll know what Im talking about

Wanted to add a name for the folk/classical side: Leo Kotke. Y'all probably never heard of him. But on a 12-string, I've never heard anyone like him. You'd swear there were two people playing.

I haven't heard the Edge mentioned yet. Can't forget about him...
But he only knows 3 chords...

May I add Randy Roads to the list! RIP
