Great Unconventional Acne Tip

for those dudes who suffer from acne, i have a great piece of advice for you that i've recently come upon. it's great for exfoliation, and should be done right after cleansing. it is also great for helping get rid of red marks that are left behind from previous acne. all it is is scotch tape. put it on your problem areas and peel it off. then take a look at all the nasty dead skin you get rid of. its amazing how much it picks up. TRY IT.

possibly. but its probably 10x cheaper. i can get SO much dead skin off my face doing this. its surprising.

it probably works best when one is using some form of acne treatment (benzoyl peroxide, retin-a) that dries out the skin...

regular exfoliating w/ a loofa or exfoliating scrub would do a better job than tape, but if it works for you, by all means go for it

thing is, i DO regularly exfoliate with a scrub. its just that after i get out of the shower and my skin dries, my face looks almost like its slightly peeling (due to the retin-a and dry conditions of winter). the tape seriously does wonders for me. you should see all the crap it can get off face. sorry if it won't do squat for ya'll.

Yes I use retin A and benzoyl peroxide and exfoliate. When I am peeling I use cuticle nippers and sort of "shave" and snip off the peeling skin...this is really fast and easy.....weird I know. Maybe I am so damn exfoliated there is nothing left. Maybe someone as hardcore as me needs to use packing tape or duct tape! I like this tip though...I will continue to experiment with different tapes

OK, I just used Scotch/3m superstrength packaging tape...much better. A word of warning, do not get this on your eyebrows....it rips them right out...mine are, uh, kinda thin now

Next time I'll kick it up another notch with the good stuff...DUCT TAPE. I wanted to go light since I'm scheduled for a facial tomorrow.

Gee this is so good my microdermabrasion appointments might be a thing of the past

Yes I am familiar with this method of using scotch tape as an "exfoliator". Actually I know the person who originally came out with that idea to be honest. It does work, but it is a hassle. I think the best tape was the 3M tape. Don't use duct tape because it's much too harsh.

Here's another tip for exfoliating. Use a bit of baking soda in your cleanser (like Cetaphil). Work the baking soda into the cleanser and rub GENTLY on your face. Works well. Be careful not to overdo it!

Hey good news, I told the facialist about the tape and she said no problem with using tape to remove the outer horny (yep that's what they call it) layer of skin. She said it would be a good idea to follow the tape treatment with a good clay mask to close the pores. Also use sunscreen because you will be more prone to sun damage after any exfoliation. She fixed my eyebrows too...LOL!
