Wal-Mart announced that they will soon be offering customers a new discount item: Wal-Mart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo Winery of California, to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $1-$3 range.
Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of Wal-Mart brand into their shopping carts but "there is a market for cheap wine", said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing. She said, "But the right name is important."
Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive name for the Wal-Mart brand. The top surveyed names in order of popularity are:
10. Chateau Traileur Parc
9. White Trashfindel
8. Big Red Gulp
7. World Championship Riesling
6. NASCARbernet
5. Chef Boyardeaux
4. Peanut Noir
3. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!

In Australia we have similar shops called K Mart, Target and Lowes, quite cheap which is great for people who do not make much money however the quality is terrible and I would rather save my money for a few months and buy quality which lasts a long time rather than soemthing which lasts 3 weeks and goes out of fashion too soon.

depends on what you buy. Those are American stores that expanded marketplace to Oz.
Since most, nearly 95% of products purchased are used immediately, long last doesnt matter.
There is a difference though between stages of life. You spend 150$ for a kitchenaid product or 9.99$ for something you dont want to pack and can throw in the trash when you move. You still need it.
So, sometimes plastic plates forks and knives are more appropriate than purchasing fine chinal.
Just gots to think of what, how long and life use you expect out of a product.

The purchasers and buyers are much much more savvy about purchasing than those stores you listed with alot more clout.
They spend literally hundreds of millions of dollars on market research to figure out what products to fullfill the need and want of the consumer they cater to and to make different sections of the store. Its an advanced system, the best the world has ever seen

Lets take for example non stick frying pans which cost $120 AUD and the poor quality pans which cost $17 each. I would rather save $12o and buy a non stick pan and know that my food won't stick, less time scrubbing the thing, use less water and less stress on my hands than use a low quality $17 pan which would piss me off every time I cleaned it.

Also K Mart etc do not sell the type of business suits I like. I have to shop at special stores which specifically sell my type of clothes which are not mass produced and everybody wears them. I do my shopping according to my budget or I will do without until I have the money to buy something descent and look at it/wear/ use it with pleasure than with disgust.

I bought gourmet pots and pans. And separately nonstick pans that are quality. Some things you dont skimp on.
But, buying things that you use, throw away and/or use rarely means you can find them cheap. Like a can opener, a good coffee pot, they have a selection just right.
I dont need an espresso maker when all I want is a way to extract caffeine easily. Different choices. If I was to go fishing. Id stop by walmart and pick up some cheap equipment b/c I dont fish often enough to justify buying top of the line stuff

I know what you mean with the Pots & pans, cutlery, appliances, etc.
But for work clothes (I'm maintenance in a factory), workout clothes, socks & undies, etc, it's fine. Beats spending $40.00 on a Reebok T shirt, or shorts, when I can spend $5.00 & it lasts 1/2 as long.
