GP problems as wel...

About a year ago I went to my gp for a check up. I mentioned that I did not have much of a libido. I had to get blood work done anyway so she checked for test levels. Sure enough they came back low. Total test was 386 free test was 84.

Because I am only 36 (and she does not have much experience in this area – 80% of her practice is women) she didn’t want to start hrt. She sends me to a urologist who suggests viagra. I explain I have not problems getting it up just no desire. He gives some answer about how more or less a raging boner will reignite the fire." he also explained that although my levels were low they were within the normal range. I said "It says here test levels are low." He replies various labs have different standards for what is considered low...At that point I more or less gave up bacause it seemed like a lost cause.

I took it upon myself to send my numbers to a clinic in fla a few weeks ago and was given 2 x 10cc test cyp 200mg/ml and hcg 2 x 10,000IU for 6 months.

I have since started posting on this board and it has been suggested that I see an endo.

Now my question is: What have other member's experiecnes with endos been when they have gotten to this point. What levels would they like you to get to? I know it will differ but am still intersted to hear others perspectives.

What is that like 153mg/test per week?
How much are you supposed to take?
How often?
The level they would like to get you too depends on the Dr. Just like your other experiences it is all subjective not objective. LOL
The key is to start asking the Dr. the questions, don't forget they are humans too and they also work for you or your insurance company. If they don't have the same subjetive goals as you do than find another. I would keep my test levels in the high 800's/low 900's.

I think I know what protocol you are on - 200mg/week for 10 weeks, then the hcg for two, get retested and back on the test for another 10 weeks?

My question is why would you go see an endo now? I am assuming you have already paid for future blood work and you have the test already. I would say try this out for six months and use the blood work results along with the Doc's consultations to monitor your situation. Be careful, 200mg/week is a pretty high trt dose for some and your E2 levels may rise as your t level jumps up. Did they prescribe a-dex for you as well? My starting levels were close to yours and jumped to 1420 (range 241-827) total and 39 (6.8-21.5) free.

I am at the end of the first 10 weeks of this protocol and am already thinking about what to do after round two. Really considering finding a local doc that will work with my insurance going forward as the clinic route is way expensive. Will see what my levels are after the two weeks off of t and go from there.

You didnt post ranges, but I am guessing that you will feel a ton better after you start your injections. You may want to post all of your numbers up with ranges so others can look at them. If you did not get a full work up done there are threads with guides as to what to test for.

Good luck
