My back pops almost everytime i breath in deep because i almost broke it twice in football.. Went to the chiropractor today and had it all checked up. About 3 of my top verterbraes are restricting normal flow from my brain to my nerves. Same wit around 3 on the bottom.. And 4 of the verterbraes in the middle of my spine are deterearating (spelling) from really bad trauma. The cartilidge is all fucked up and the bone seems all crushed. Im really down right now :( im still a teenager and im on juice.. Is there a possibility my bones/cartilidge can restore themselves to their normal state? :bawling:

If you're only a teenager, and your body is fucked already, I'd get the hell off gear m'kay. Don't give up hope. The only types of cells that don't regenerate in the human body are myocytes (muscle cells) and neurons (nerve cells). Go to a physical therapist who works in conjunction with your doc and make sure you see an orthopedic surgeon for a second opinion.

Screw the ortho, as a Chiro it sounds like you have received some good advice. Hell no, I wouldn't stop the juice. I would however tell him which exercises you are planning to do in the gym and ask him if they will compromise your condition.
As far as cartilage regenerating, you can pretty much forget that. If you have some degeneration of your discs, that is what exercise and a good Chiro are for, so have at it.

ya bro. but im 16 and still have many years of football..... so u must know about it.. how can it be fixed ?

Not taking anything away from you as a chiropractor but going to see an orthopedic doc for a second opinion is sound advice.

I had a back injury a few years ago and saw a chiropractor, he diagnosed the back injury as pulled ligaments that would heal in about 6 weeks. After two months I still had lots of pain so I went to see an orthopedic and after an MRI, he found a herniated disc.

Point taken, however, if X is seeing a good Chiro then an MR scan should be ordered. The popping sounds like hypermobile joints that may be due to repetitive injury or lax ligaments. Strengthening and rehab is probably a route that should be explored as well.
Good luck X.

Spinal compression can be treated and reversed somewhat over time, provided cartilage is ample and there is no degeneration occurring. Definitely see a Sports Med doc and a chiro. Rehab will take time, but successfully completing it will make a life long difference. Do not take this lightly and follow the advice of your MD closely, not ours.

If you have a medical condition, see a medical doctor as in MD, specifically a spine surgeon, sport medicine or orthopedic surgeon. Don’t rely upon the advice of a chiropractor.

I have been selling spine and orthopedic implants for over 20 years and have seen over 5000 spine surgery’s and would be very surprised if your back can’t be treated by a competent surgeon.

This does not necessarily imply you need surgery and maybe chiropractic or very likely conservative treatment and physical therapy is in order.

If you live near Salt Lake City or Provo, there are excellent spine surgeons in both towns.
