Got called a racist this weekend.

hardrock

Go fuck your own face!
Platinum
At an after party after the bar some black dudes I know were saying how we need a black president. I mentioned that I didn't think it would happen in our lifetime. I said the white government wouldn't allow it cause it doesn't see eye to eye with their agenda and it would do too much for blacks and or the poor to middle class.

I explained that it wasn't me who would keep them out, but it just wouldn't happen, but at this point they had already decided that I was racist.

I have a half black neice who I love dearly and don't care what color someone is only how they act towards me.

What do you think? Am I a racist for making these comments? And what are your views on wether this will happen?

shave your head bro? might play into the reaction you recieved...

Timing and choice of words. You didn't happen to mention that anyone was a credit to his race, did you?

;)

u r not a racist bor'a bor'a, they are just simply assholes looking for the typical reason to start an arguement against oppressive whitey. Thos types of people are dangerous in large numbers.

you're a realist.

BUT

in 50 years, there will be *more* minorities than whites in this country. Meaning if a minority runs for office, and all minorities vote for him -- whites will be outnumbered.

So in reality, higher chance of a hispanic mexican president than a black president. Cuz there are more mexican-americans than blacks.

talking politics at an after party?

alcohol/weed/x can make for som volitiile conversations
do we need to bring out american history x?

i hate getting into debates with drunk people, nobody sees logic.

to answer your question, I don't see those comments as being racist.

That is why I get blasted and say something offensive first... gets it out of the way and deters anyone from disagreeing with me...

I beleive being "racist" is a relative term and an ever changing one as well. When the other guy first said this, "we need a black president." he was being racist.

That was your error right there....the assumption that a black president will disproportionately favor blacks and minorities. He'd never get elected in the first place if that were his agenda. The first black president will be someone like Colin Powell or Clarence Thomas, neither of whom do you see doing anything specifically for minorities. The "oreo" as some would call it.

Or Dave Chappelle. Maybe (hopefully) Rick James.

Mine eyes have seen the horror.

You are wrong, but you are not a racist.

An individual's race != public policy decisions.

The Republican party would do pretty much anything to have a black candidate for President. Unfortunatly there are none right now. The closest we can come to is the Lt. governor in Maryland (Steel - an EXCELLENT guy). If you are black and go to a Republican event, you will get pushed to the front table with a quickness. If you run for office as a credible black candidate, the party will clear the field for you.

And that is racist. promoting a person becauase of their race and not their merits.
