GOT BLOOD TEST RESULTS uk

I came of steriods in feb 2002 and had my TEST measured it was 4.2 nmol with very low FSH & LH, zero sperm

Since then the doctors put me on HCG (2 courses) this helped my test but lowered FSH/LH. In august 2003 after 2 courses of HCG which lasted 6 weeks each my TEST was 7.9 nmol and FSH and LH even lower, zero sperm

By then i had had enough of the doctors and ran a course of Anastrozole and clomid in october and november 2003 . Two weeks after the course i had a private blood test done and have the results below, with values and range of values on the right in brackets.

MALE INFERTILITY PROFILE (UK units)

FOLLICLE STIM. HORMONE - *15.0 IU/L (1 - 10)

LUTEINISING HORMONE - 8.3 IU/L (1 - 10)

PROLACTIN - *468 mIU/L (25 - 450)

TESTOSTERONE - 13.9 nmol/L (11 - 33)

SEX HORMONE BINDING GLOB - 20 nmol/L (20 - 45)

Testosterone/SHBG ratio - 70 (41 - 159)

A little history i did three 9 month courses of deca in 3 years up to feb 2002 (very stupid i know). I came of steriods to start a family.

the doctors don't know about my anastrozole and clomid combo and plan on giving me HCG and FSH , but they won't give me regular blood tests and i think i would be better off without these drugs.

PS I have not had a sperm test since august 1st 2003, the next one they will give me is january 19th 2004( long time) .

what do you think guys, not too sure what to make of the prolactin / shbg values ?

any help would greatly appreciated

thx winny100

Suggest you work on lowering your prolactin as it can be suppressive to testosterone and gh levels: dostinex first choice, bromocriptine second choice. also large doses of B6, and deprenyl - this combo is very safe and inexpensive. bromo can have nasty sides and dostinex is pricey. given your high levels you should be able to get an Rx for the dostinex.

The test/shbg is obviously your T levels / SHBG levels * 100, but I do not know how to interpret it. Proviron is the best safe choice for lowering SHBG and it should not suppress your T output or recovery to a very large degree. The SHBG influence the free T levels in your body which are of more importance than total T levels. The tricky thing is your body may reduce T production if free T levels rise, in its effort to maintain homeostasis. Blood work is essential.

It may have been nice to see estrogen levels included in your results to establish a baseline and judge how good a job the adex is doing. too low estrogen is not ideal either.

my only comment would be that high prolactin will screw your libido and cabaser is a much better choice than dostinex. it's the same drug but is dispensed in larger doses and far less expensive. you just have to split the pills to get the same dosages as with dostinex. another advantage you have is that you're in Europe where Cabaser is easier to get than here in the USA. and oh, by the way, the shit REALLY works. 4 weeks of (twice a week) therapy will seriously lower prolactin without affecting anyting else (we think).
