Good place for a used computer?

hardrock

Go fuck your own face!
Platinum
I just need a tower. Don't trust pawn shops. Unsure about Ebay. prolly get some virus infested piece of crap. Don't wanna spring for a new one or buy a whole package.

Any Ideas?

At today's prices I would just buy a new Dell. We get the 2400n fairly loaded for about $450.

cheap dell or ebay. if ebay make sure you get the restore discs/operating system included with the auction

I know and thats probably what I'll end up doing. Just don't need all the extras. Was hoping I could find a decent tower for $300 or less.

Most of the major manufacturers sell reconditioned used systems on their web sites. These computers are lease returns. IBM and Dell both have decent pre-owned programs. I bought a laptop from IBM's used store and it was great.

i got a prepwned laptop from dell and saved $1200. i was happy. nothing wrong with reconditioned (i did get 2 yr warranty tho just in case)

waiting, for my neighber to leave,
I got another trick up my sleeve
stepped with pep to the back of the house
looked in, all the lights were out
grabbed the door and its locked so,
easily made my way to the window
lift it up slow, 'cause it takes timing,
look around then hardrock climb in
get your 'puter front and center,
or get five years for breaking an enter
move quickly, but no running
ssshhhhhhhhhhhhh...
i think somebody's coming
hear the front door key,
and you flee,
out the back with a fist full of jewelry
over the wall, don't fall grab you Dell cause that was a close call
getting ganked by hardrock is a lesson, so
is their any more questions?

Don't buy anything with a Celeron processor. They're noticeably slower than regular Pentiums.

I liked AMD myself, generally cheaper then Pentiums and usually performance as good and sometimes better. The just get really really hot when you overclock them.

So what are the downsides of a C eleron vs. a Pentium 3 or 4 processor?

Tiny cache and much slower speed. I think my P3 933mhz is as fast as a friends 2.4ghz Celeron.

Fuck! Thats exactly what the one I was planning on buying has. It's $100 more for the one with the Pentium. I mainly plan on using it just for the internet and maybe gaming. Would these be affected much?
