Good Lift?!?

I was just wonder what you guys would think would be a really good deadlift for someone that weighs about 195lbs? I have been deadlift for about a month and a half now. I have been using my bigger faster stronger method.

What is a good number to shoot for? Just curious to see what you guys would think.

Well, I would say that you and only you could determine that, given that you know your stats, lifts, strenghts, weaknesses, etc etc etc.

Ok well I am 6' 195lbs right now. I pulled 405 for three on my last set on Thursday. I am just wondering that weight you guys think a natural 195lber would top out at? Thats all.

Some of the "experts" claim that 300/400/500 are great targets for a natural lifter. (bench/squat/dead)

that's hard to say, because as your numbers go up so will your weight, Bfold deadlifted 703 a while ago and he's natural

That's the most depressing thing I've read all day. :bawling:

I can't do any of those. However, I am considered quite strong by several African pygmie tribes.

More than you deadlifted yesterday.

like spatts said, are you happy with your progression? do you feel you are giving it your all? if you can answer yes then In would say you should be pleased. But you will always want more...

LOL. seriously though, they're TARGETS, not REQUIREMENTS. subtle difference. see? so stop crying girly-man.:D j/k

It just depends on your goals really. and I wouldn't put stock in those 3/4/5 ways of thinking....I beat all those easily in hs.

Girly man? Me? .......That's it!!

You sir, will soon be hearing from a large group of very angry pygmies.

Didn't mean to defame your character lol, I was just saying everyone is different and you shouldn't hold yourself to other's standards. Just try to improve yourself.

he is natural........................why is that funny?

enlighten me, please

gymtime is always hilarious. And that Hank Hill avatar just tops it off. I imagine Hank Hill mouthing those words... :lmao:

Who gives a flying rats ass if he's natural, he's a good lifter period. A juiced champ will be a natural champ, gear-bench shirts-squat suits-belts etc are all tools to use, and 703 with hard training and natural is possible. People that use that excuse are people who need an excuse to help themselves reason why they can't to a thing.
 :kaioken: :redhot:

Exactly.

Natural, non-natural... man or machine... the bionic man.... I've never seen a bottle of test lift any weight in the gym. (Someone told me that one) :)

Zyg, what experts said this? In 1999, I trained for a powerlifting meet for twelve weeks and I put up those numbers at my first meet, when I was 19. I find those figures to be very low relative to many people's potential.

The thing I think is weird about them, is that MOST of the PLers I see have comparable squats and deads, and then a different bench number. Like 500/300/500 ...the squat and dead are always closer.

Anyone else seeing this?

Natural or not, most people will never deadlift 500 let alone 700, so if he is or isn't doesn't matter. If drugs made the deadlifter I would know alot of 700+ deadlifters.
