Well HEY stranger.

How are you?

Where you hanging out these days?

BMWs are "loud". Meaning you hear road noise a lot.

But for 2K mileage, it looks like a decent price. However, check what the same kind is going for on ebay. Yeah... ebay. They have many new car dealers advertising on there and you can get a sampling of what to expect in terms of price.

$34K for a bavarian corolla? (330 > 325, still a corolla)

Knigga please.

lol @ bavarian corolla

And lol@ "no haggle pricing". Every price is negotiable.

325 >>> IS

(ps: seems extremely ironic that the Lexus fanatic would diss a BMW for being a Corolla...)

It's way cheaper just to carjack someone. Plus then you can throw someone out of a car AND use a weapon. Doesn't get much better.

no doubt bor. I would sooner walk than own an IS. The IS line should be discontinued.

Do you play Grand Theft Auto? If not, you should.

Nope.

Something stinks in shitville unless it's a private sale. Might be a great New Orleans salvage.

Definitely calls for a pro inspection and a title search.

He's asking about a 330CI which is a much better car than a 325......that being said, it's a coupe, the Lexus is a sedan...so it's apples and oranges......

That being said, the Lexus smokes the BMW on all levels.

The price isn't terribly bad.....for those thinking it's too good to be true....you couldn't be more wrong.

Manheim Market Report for today 10/8/05 = $30,675 average wholesale.

Yeah no shit-that just keeps you from trying to get a lower price. Car dealers are the ultimate at mind games.

Fuck the Beamer, you could get a real car for that $ like a Dodge Charger that would blow it's doors off.

I purposely chose the base model to emphasize my point.

A Lexus GS has zero fun-to-drive quotient, no passion, especially the six cylinder. It may have some okay on-the-road ability and numbers on paper, but it communicates none of it to the driver. Lexus' specialty is isolating the driver from the outside world, even the IS and ES are guilty of that to some degree.

Lexus is a great luxury car for people who don't like cars. They offer nothing for the enthusiast.

Neither does the 3 series sans M Power.

It's still pretty tossable.

But then I suppose everything seems slow when you're used to modified Vipers.

It's not even about being slow.....it's the fact that BMW gives you nothing, nada, zip.....bupkiss.....for your $40k. :)

Don't get me wrong, I sell the shit out em'....but that's just because the 10 cent millionaires in the midwest think a shiny three series personifies wealth.

lol yellow miata.

Dude, I thought you were an Acura fan to the death??

Speaking as the owner of a 330i, I *LOVE* the car. It is the most fun thing to drive & I've taken it across the country 2x as well as taken on Florida snowbird traffic & the crazy whackos of Atlanta. The difference of the 330 is the 6 cylinder & it purrs. It also likes to run at 100 mph +. Very nice for straightaways like I-75 (Aligator Alley). Also good for sitting in ATL traffic.

Two complaints I have about it tho --
1)WHY the F*** is the battery in the trunk? You have to use a screwdriver to pull of the inside side panel to even consider getting to the POS.

2) Once the warranty runs out, it is $$$ to repair.

Otherwise, its hawt!

What do you mean nothing?

Dang, I am loving this 525 I bought for my wife. Sheesh the xenon headlights turn when you do. I have gone over 140mph with alot of tach left.

Oh...Yes!! However, the Shadow has to bust it out on the down low...so he can cruise around in his yellow Miata with his hair blowing through his hair.

Normally, he has to roll in his vehicle he bought from the Vatican....It has since been renamed.......The Shadow Mobile.

I would agree with you before I got the 2006 GS. The 06 GS offers plenty of the driver feedback and road-sense that BMW is renowned for.

I've only driven the previous generation GS400, haven't been in the current model. The older one was like a fast Japanese Lincoln.

The magazines (yeah, I know...) all said that the new one was even softer. They say the same about the new IS.

I had the previous GS300, the V-6. I would totally agree about a fast Lincoln, though more comfortable. I didn't get the GS430 last time because the V-8 held little appeal, as the car was a "faster Lincoln".

Even my SC is less "fun" than it looks.

The 06 GS is not softer than the 2002-05 models. It is smoother, but if you want to get out and go, you'll feel the road. It's not that "stadium seat with a rocket engine" feeling you get from BMW, but you know you're driving and there is a serious beast under the hood.

To be honest I am not terribly experienced with BMW's, but a good friend of mine has a 330CI and it is a fun car.

With you bucks matt you should drive a m5 or an m6 convertable. I think you would be sold on beamers. Go test drive one and see what you think. I am more impressed everytime I drive my wife's car. Dang, that is one fine made driving machine. Jesus forgives Germans too ya know.

It is hard to go wrong with an Aston but heck dude they are about 140k or so. Do you mean the z4 bmw? I like them too but seems like you like more of the sedans with you lexus choices. So wouldn't you want a sedan for bizness and stuff. And matt I am serious go test drive an m5. You will be amazed the way they hug the road is incredible.

nah, Z-8, look up the Z8, it's cool.

I will test drive an M5. I am serious about Aston Martins. I'm going to use them to pick up my groceries, go to construction sites, all that shit.

looks like a hybrid between a Miata and a CRossfire

looks fun though

Those(Z8)s are cool. I have never heard of one before. What is the $$$ and how much hp do they got?

Post up after you test drive the m5 and tell me what ya think.

arent you going to get tired of the 04 since the major styling changes with the 05?..not saying the new ones are nicer, but your going to be driving "the old one".

Get a Lexus, you wont regret it. My SC400 Sports Coup has 180,000 miles now and I've never had any issues with it. Might not be the quickest V8 out there, but it still has more power than you'd expect from a Lexus (with the popular opinion of Lexus being a grandma car). You just can't go wrong with upper end Toyota or Lexus. Got a Landcruiser a few years back, love it too. Thing drives like a tank its so heavy, got me around with no troubles in the ice storm we had last year, didn't use chains or studs even though they were required by law. My ex's parents had a BMW that spent more time in the shop than it did on the road.

I saw a new Aston in traffic today, which is odd since there isn't a dealer within a few hundred miles of here. I thought it was a Jaguar XK roadster until I saw the Aston grille, I would have expected something that expensive to have more "presence". I think the color, a non-metallic navy blue, was a little too dour.

The only two Astons I've ever driven were ancient, and that was a LONG time ago. I've spent a few minutes each in a DB6 and a DB-V8, both of which drove like trucks. They struck me as a sort of English version of a '60s Maserati.

That's the price for a "demo" car. New, they were going for $40k. Now take 20% off and you get your price. Is this one auto or standard ? Any options (Navigation system, leather, M package....) ?

That's what happens when you get bought by Ford, as both Jag and Aston Martin have at various times. I agree with you though, the lines are Jag-like. Whenever I see a Jag I first think "Aston Martin?" Then I get closer and it is yet another Faguar.

I've driven a few Astons at shows, and recently drove one in the UK (wrong side of the road, wrong side of the car, after a three beer lunch) and it was a pleasure to drive.

You seen the new Morgans? I have a 1967. The thing is a blast.

Hey, matt I was looking at the astons on some car website that showed pros and cons. It said it was a nice car but fararis had more umph and curb appeal for the same money. Why not get a farari instead?

I can only assume you mean Ferrari.

The only reason I don't have one now is that I don't think anyone here in Jacksonville can fix it. I could leave it in South FL, but I don't get down there as much as I said I would. All things in time, sir.

I bought a Morgan (a 1967) and then found this wacky British guy who moved here from England and is an English car nut. So he takes care of the Morgan, and he said he can take care of the Aston, too.

Don't be a smart skywalker now of course i meant Ferrari. It is tuesday and I did chest and tris and 30minutes on the ratmill trying to burn some fat and I can hardly walk today. So my spelling is not right on.

You don't think there is no import shops that could handle fixin it? While I like the Astons alot it just don't seem snazzy enough for that much money.

LOL.

I just don't want to deal with a Porsche mechanic reading a book on Ferrari's trying to figure out stuff.

I've always liked Astons. :)

Ferrari and Aston is like applea and oranges. I'm assuming you're talking about the 360 vs. DB9. Lightweigth V8 vs. kindda heavy V12 GT. Different feelings. Just like comparing a G35 vs. RX-8. Personally, there're too many Ferraris out there. Astons or Masseratis ? Now we're talking about something different.

And btw, if you own a Ferrari or Aston, you go straight to the dealer for mechanic/repairs. As matt said, you dont want some smart ass with a tech book trying to figure out things.

I remember when you got the Morgan. Is it a Plus Four or a Four Four, I fergit? I also fergit which one has a Ford engine and which one has a Triumph engine. Morgans are cool, they still have wood body frames. And the sliding pillar front suspension was designed in 1911 I think.

I've only seen the new ones in pictures. I can't get past the google eyes.

It's a plus four. It has a Triumph engine. I want to upload a pic but the ones I have a too big (data wise) for the site.

Open the pic with explorer, it will automatically resize it so it fits your screen. Do a "copy screen", open Paint and paste. Then you have a brand new resized pic without touching the orignal one.

manny - it left the pic the same size - I'll figure out a way to post it or just take more pics.

How much did you pay for your Morgan ? Is it mint ? With original parts or some aftermarkets on it ? Must be one nice piece of ass.

$32K

Mint condition, was owned by a dealer / importer who had dozens of them.

It's fun, everyone notices it, and it's fun to drive.
