Gold's Gym question

if anyone knows.. Will they be able to split up the initiation fee to a few diffrent pay periods? I can't afford the 150ish it is right now... I could definatly split between now and next month, or even in 2 weeks.. I really need to get my ass into a gym!

Also.. anyone know the current running specials?

I tried.. the guy up there at 1:30am said I needed to come back during the day to talk to someone.. they don't do signup's at night evidently. Just trying to get some basic info before going up there tomorrow after my new job interview. (have a insider, good chance of hiring me on the spot).

Over here in the DC Metro area, the lowest i've seen is $34.99/month nothing down member access to one gym only. If you want to work out at the 15 or so GG in the area, its like $150 down and $45/month.

I used to pay $26/month back in 98. Took off 2 yrs and quit. Now i pay $40 for access to 4 GG in the area. Its all about who you talk to and what you can get from them. Its like buying a car. Just gotta give in when its right or walk away.

if they are still being pricks about it, tell them there are other gyms that are far cheaper for you to lift at.

they'll negotiate. try to get it down to $75, tell them to fuck off on the personal training sessions, and split it over 3 months.

they do 2 for 1 specials, so 50% off the initiation fee should be managable.

if they won't bite at the one in RR, there are 8 more you can sign up at....

I got it taken care of.. 80 dollars this first time, and then 40 a month.. not the best, but good enough for my ass.

Depends on the gym and the salesperson. Most of the time, they want all the initial fees up front, but that stuff is always negotiable. At the Gold's where I used to work (and still work out), we could charge as much as $150 for the fee, but we'd usually give it to them for $50 if they signed up on their first visit. Hell, we'd even hold checks for a few days or more sometimes.

Not to put you down, but if you still have a funky 'do and everything, they aren't going to be as inclined to work with you. The more clean cut you look, the more it makes you look like you'll come through when you say you will. Right or wrong, that's the way it usually goes.

Is this your first gym membership? We have several gyms in the area, but Gold's is by far my favorite. Ours is packed full of Hammer Strength equipment and has about as good of a "hardcore" atmosphere as you can hope to find in most places.
