Umm, sorry dude, I fly number 1 jet. You're geigh-assed #8, the public affairs officer. j/k
I'm in P-cola myself, live about four miles from the back gate of NAS. Can hear the Blues practice all the time. When I was in the Navy stationed at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, they stayed in the VFA-106 hangar right next to the Ground Electronics building I worked in. Anyway, we being the guys in the know in Electronics, we ran a PA system all the way up and down the flight line, and all the demonstration announcers could patch in. Anyway, the snobbish ass Blue Angels Public Affairs Officer said they had to use Blue Angels equipment, and of course it broke down. 200,000 people show up over the weekend and can't hear a word he said.
At that same airshow a Strike Eagle pilot screwed the pooch big time. His announcer says as he's landing now watch the incredible short runway braking of the F15. Stupid assed pilot hot brakes it and rolls all the way down a 12,500 ft runway and ends up in the grass. Was hilarious for us squids to see a bumblebee do that.
I will tell you this, tho. Sorry to see Willow Grove go, I used to catch P3 hops to there from NAS Jax on the weekends, so I could visit my parents in Williamsport, PA, for $12 total (train fare from Philly to Harrisburg at the time)
The Blues are primadonna sonsabitches, but they do put on a good show.
