Going to Rome......

I`m headed to Rome,Italy at the end of the month and I was wondering if anyone can give some real advise about what to expect, where to eat and play and the ways of the city?

take a trip out to the almalfi coast... visit the little towns like positano, chinqueterre (sp), etc. More fun, rome is cool for a short period though.

I`ve got all the tours to the Vatican, Jewish Ghettoes and viewing the history of the city down. I`m talking about the nightlife, the food and taking in the non-tourist culture. I`m just hoping to get a good tip from someone who may have visited the city recently. I`ve never been, but when I travel I like to see both sides of the city, not just the surface.

I go to Rome 3/4 times a year..

EATING:

NAVANO NOTTIE, Great place.. Good, Cheap food.. No extras added to bill, the staff are so nice and friendly I always give a nice tip.. ;)

DAR POETA: Another great place to pasta and pizza..

SMART PLACES:

ENTECO ANTICA: Near the spanish steps.. Everything is at a reasonable price.. More of an evening eatery..

DI FRONTE A again near the spanish steps.. great people and very helpful..

GUSTO: Near VIA DEL CORSO and THE SPANISH STEPS:
the best atmosphere.. great prices too.. Also the best :coffee: In the world!! ;)

PLACES TO SEE:

COLOSSEUM, You cannot leave Rome without seeing it! ;)

ROME ZOO, THE BIOPARCO: Go for fun! :)

Once you're in ROME, there is so much to do and see.. You will be walking alot so good footwear is in order..

Almost forgot the VATICAN CITY!!!

Was there recently and the police had really cleaned up the gypsy/pickpocket problems that lurk around the Colisseum. I am sure they did it just for me.

In terms of nightlife... their clubs suck ass. Forget that shit. Find yourself a nice table outside with views of the skyline and just do nothing. sit there and eat/drink and people watch. The best entertainment around is walking by your table.
