Going out to Cali.. LA peeps please help!

Hey i posted in this forum because most of the peeps i know are here rather than in chat..
anywho...
I am on my way out to LA... I need some assistance from Cali/LA people...

Any help with real estate would be appreciated!! Place to rent til i find a multi-family to buy... Looking to do this cot/nov!! Time is precious I need proximity to Hollywood... was thinking Sunset blvd area maybe?? thoughts?? Or i was also thinking Santa Monica because it is so amazing... I want a safe location, dog friendly and close to the studios etc... any help or suggestions would be great!!!

It sounds like you are interested in the entertainment business. Please correct me if I am wrong.

The studios are spread out all over the place. West LA may be the ideal solution as the majority of the action takes place there or nearby in regards to acting and studios. If not, everything is a quick 10-15 minute drive away but can be much longer during traffic hours.

Directly on Sunset isn't a reality as the majority of it in the location you are refering to are already occupied by vairous clubs, restaraunts and other small businesses. Cool place though. There are places above and below but they are known to be fairly pricey and it may not be as convenient as you would like in reference to the studios.

Actual Santa Monica is pretty much the end of the road as it is along the coast. It's a beautiful area and it is also adjacent to Venice and Marina Del Ray. It's about 15-20 minutes away from the studios but the 10 freeway that takes you into LA becomes a nightmare during traffic hours due to the fact that it also intersects the 405. Local would be the alternative but it's still a risk if you are pressed for time.

You may want to consider renting a room first. I would look for something on a month to month basis if possible. This way, your rent would be cheaper and you could stay in a nicer area until you discover LA and find what works best for yourself. Make sure you have a car!
