going on a picnic tonight, give me some suggestions

For what food to take, I am taking a girl on a twighlight picnic (I get tired of restaurants), what stuff should I take?

I would think a bit of booze would be in order...cognac or a lil' wine would suffice

For food I only got one suggestion...a good block of cheese and crackers for appetizers...

I second the cold fried chicken suggestion, that's classic picnic food. Probably not appetizing in the form you can find it in England though, so maybe some sandwich-making supplies would be good instead.

Don't forget the red and white checkered tablecloth.

Yeah, the cheese and crackers are a must, a nice bottle of wine, some good deli sandwiches, some fresh fruit salad, and maybe a box of fine chocolates to eat under the stars once night hits.
