Going for my final run

2003 will be the year I make my final run at size. I've done 3 cycles. My last one was very dissapointing. I went up to almost 5000 calories a day, but managed to get my bf up it seemed more than size. Arms and traps have been my main focus for some time. Neither has shown great improvement. My arms are down 1/2' since coming off. I have switched up rouintes and most of the time have used a low volume, not exceeding a moderate volume, and nothing. Even used a Poliquin technique lately, got some strength, but no size, even though the workouts were geared towards hypertrophy. I'm letting pretty loose this year coming up. I will be varying routines every 4-6 weeks and working on strength routines. Not putting every workout under a microscope. I will get a few more cycles in. At this point though, I'm not expecting anything great. I figure if at the end of the year, if I'm not satisfied, I will work at just keeping a hard appearance. They say steroids pick up where god and gentetics left off. I beg to differ. I am beginning to beleive that some people just don't have the genteics to carry size. Period. I have eductaed myself, ate sick amounts of food all day like it was my job, put together cycles, got to bed early on nights I would have rather not and gave up drininking for the most part (once every few months) and while I put on some size, the effort seems to be outweighing the payoff. I assume others out there must have the same problem, I can't be the only one. For some guys it happens, and for others it doesn't. I put in my time plus overtime. This is the final run for the upcoming year.

Lets see what kind of routine you have been and/or will be using. You mentioned changing things every 4 to 6 weeks, why? Your body builds up tissue as you force it to move larger and larger loads, if you are constantly switching routines, how can you accurately measure incremental increases in strength. Also you mentioned you hit 5k cals/day in you last cycle, were they clean? How much was protein? What exactly are your stats?
You say arms and traps have been your main focus, how often have you been hitting them? Have you considered the fact that you may be overworking them in your attempt to bring them up to speed...

Stats

5'8, 190lbs (haven't weighted myself in a few weeks though). Arms afre 16-1/2', down from 17'. I hit each bodypart once every 7 days. For arms I was doing 4 total sets, with a slow eccentric like 7 seconds. Then I went to 9 straight sets for most of my cycle, and now I am doing three sets total, double drop sets with 10 sec in between drops. My traps I was doing 6 sets for most of my cycle. Hammer Strength Shrugs and Barbell shrugs. My calories were clean, trus me, because it was a pain in the ass. I've never ate so much oatmeal in my life before. I am switching rouitnes because doing similar routines of 6-12 reps with varied rest times has produced shit. My volume is moderate. Like 9 sets for chest and 10 for back. I am not taking things seriously as far as thjnking about each next workout everyday. I will keep diet and rest tight, but will examine new routines often just for the hell of. I got nothing to lose. I am beginning my post cycle right now, so I will be doing super low volume for 4-6 reps for at least a few weeks. i will bump my test up tp 750mg a week sometime next year as well, to see if maybe higher doses might be key? And site injections will also be the name of the game. Peace.

I don't mean to be a dick, but you've done three cycles already and you weight 190lbs? At what weight did you start using? Are you sure your gear has been legit? Also have you looked into trying a 5x5 routine? Many people experience very good results when using this rep scheme. There is no way in hell you should need 750mgs of test at your weight, something else has to be wrong here.

5ft 8in 190lbs is not bad at all. Icelandic how much do you think he should weigh? What weight did you start cycling at slyder? Maybe you are close to your genitic limit and upping the test could help. What were your previous cycles and how much did you gain on each of them?

that's what I thought... with this stats and bf as low as 6%, he would be in great shape...
Not everyone gains 30 lbs off each of the cycles... Quality gains of 10 lbs that you don't lose post cycle are good as well...

by the way, few of the things off your post are confusing, slyder...
including eating crazy amount of foods...
You can train 7 days a week, eat like mofo, run gear at 2 g's a week...
It will all be waisted... Cause you have got to do it RIGHT... Not amounts that count, but HOW you do it...
There are good thread on this board to learn on how to achieve your goals... you are not on the hurry to get big. You can get big, but without low bf, it is simply not perfect... take your time and educate yourself. It's your body you are working on... no hurry here...
hope this word of motivation helps...

Not bad....

You need to have realiztic goals....

FROM THIS SITE....Someone posted a thread on natural limits and how much juice it took to forcibly go beyond them.

If you are "average" and are 5'9" - 5'10", your natural limit for lean body mass is 190lbs. So, factor in 10% BF, and you're looking at 210lbs max.

Can you go beyond that naturally? Yes....if it's in your DNA. If you can't get bigger on what you're taking now, it is possible you're nearing your natural limit. Only constant use of gear in larger and larger quantities can overcome DNA.

I got to a point where gear wasn't giving me phenominal results even with everything squared away. Some people aren't designed for hugeness, but we can get ripped, defined, shredded, etc. It's not what we had hoped for, but it has its own rewards.

Try getting off juice for a while and see what happens. If you have the dimensions you have, you aren't chipped beef, you've accomplished a nice bit. Focus on sculpting for a while perhaps. Love yourself for who you are and what you got.
