It’s reasonable to assume that a questioning of faith is no faith at all, for faith implies absolute trust. In me is an awareness of spirit, a certainty of your truth, yet my faith has been a one of questioning and scrutiny. You are alive in my conscience if not my conviction. No man, in his heart, truly imagines himself as perfect, but as truth is printed in existence, within each of us is universal yearning to improve ourselves. Perhaps man’s greatest sin, an intrinsic component of all sin, is not taking full advantage of one’s life. We all have purpose; but our selfishness has obscured the truth of our purpose as we evolve into a society of excuses. I have struggled with my purpose, questioning the truth of its existence, cursing the possibility that it is damnation from the path of self-actualization. I have failed to take advantage of my life, denying you in doing so. You alone are the source and reason of all that is. I pray for harmony between my spirit and you, and for harmony between my physical being and your physical creation. Only as I grow in unity with truth will my intellect bear truth’s wisdom. You have presented me with many challenges. Anxious memory seems to tell me that more often than not I have failed. This new challenge you have given me is a great one, something that I’ve asked for with dreamlike fervor. Please help me to endure with conviction what my conscience knows of truth in pursuit of this challenge.
