AC/Dc says so in their song "Hells Bells". "Cause if God's on the left then I'm sticking to the right." So all of you on the right(conservatives, religious right, etc) are on the wrong side. You are being led astray just as the bible says, "The whole world is being led astray."

i remember standing with God, on the porch of this old Queen Anne which had seen better days. we were both looking out towards the last moments of daylight before the sun sank below the waiting horizon. i wanted to hold His hand, but i was afraid. i don't know of what, exactly, but i just wasn't ready. i asked Him one more question, though. one more word: why?
the slight smile his mouth made, and that distant look in his eyes unsettled me. but the words he spoke in response left me nothing but cold:
In the book of samel he strongly suggests that government is less than desireable. It is just people's own stupidity that leads them to follow such things.
So I guess even us agnostics can find some useful things in that old thing afterall
Although I recognize the thread as a joke, what part of liberalism do you imagine corresponds with the bible?
It's always confused me how a everyone should have (insert perceived necessity), and that other guy shoudl pay for it" philosophy makes liberals feel "good" or "moral" about themselves. Most especially since the vast number of those making the demands intend to receive some perceived benefit from it themselves. A majority of the rest know it wont be coming out of their pocket to any appreciable degree.
Id be far more impressed ifg all the well intentioned liberals got a second job and donated the earnings to those causes they deem so necessary. But there is nothing particularly noble about mixing your envy of those who have achieved financial success with some perceived good.
Making other people virtual slaves to your ideals doesnt strike me as particularly Christina in any sense of the imagination

Just so I have it right. The "problem" with liberalism is that there are those who espouse to "save all" and yet do nothing about it (i.e. second job). The "problem" with the right is that it appears to say screw all, but is really saying everyone for THEMSELVES.

What I'm saying is it is less than amusing to witness liberals pat themselves on their back for essentially holding to the belief that someone else needs to be coerced into helping the unfortunate.
If it isnt from the sweat of your own brow that someone his been aided, get over yourself. There is nothing noble about spending someone elses money to help those in need. To suggest that it is Christian to do so is more absurd.
Seperately what the right believes is that a greater number of people are ultimately helped by allowing individuals to live freely and advance themselves and benefit from the fruti of their own labor.
Is Jerseyart the same person that was around these parts a while who always spoke down to people like he was above them? I can't remember that guys name but he was just as annoying as this fuck
