Goals. What are yours?

I've come to realise that there is one thing which has an extremely interesting effect on my life right now. Something thats now making me look at things differently on a day-to-day basis. Goals and living my life around them. I write down the goal what I want to achieve, which then opens up lots of smaller goals which i need to acomplish to achieve that 'big' goal. Are you with me? Anyone else think like this?

Here are my goals and what I would like to accomplish this year;

1. To start cutting diet to get my b/f below 6%, for summer, and to get ready for this years bulker.

2. To start bulk cycle and to gain at least 10lbs of fat-free mass. (gear assisted)

3. To save up the money to get my lotus.

The former, 1 and 2, makes going to the gym relevant to me - to achieve this I need to allocate time to get down the gym at least 4x a week.

The latter, 3, makes going to work relevant to me, again, this is what I need to do to be able to get the lotus elise.

This then sets up lots of small/simple goals, i.e. everyday to get up ready for a days work. And in the evenings, to get down the gym. Then the following day, i set myself the same target. I find this way of thinking really helps me on a day-to-day basis and then when i achieve my goals, it will just boost my confidence even more. Note I said confidence, not ego. What if i fail? Then i re-evaluate and try again.

Interested to hear yor goals, and what you do, or find helps to achieve them?

Tough to make and keep goals, especially with my business which keeps me traveling. That and 2 homes to maintain.

But,

1. Cycle lots this summer to get back into cardio shape. Been slackin for the past 2 years.

2. Work hard on the job in an effort to KEEP the f'n thing for a few more years.

3. Convince my employer in 2 years to provide me with the Golden Hand Shake. 55/25 and OUT as if I were 60 with 30.

4. Ski my life away.

Food for thought...

Luck has little to do with achievement, as a study cited in Success magazine makes clear. In the study, researchers asked Yale's class of 1953 a number of questions. Three had to do with goals:

Have you set goals?
Have you written them down?
Do you have a plan to accomplish them?

It turned out that only 3 percent of the Yale class had written down their goals, with a plan of action to achieve them. Thirteen percent had goals but had not written them down. Fully 84 percent had no specific goals at all, other than to "enjoy themselves."

In 1973, when the same class was resurveyed, the differencesbetween the goal setters and everyone else was stunning. The 13 percent who had goals that were not in writing were earning, on average, twice as much as the 84 percent of students who had no goals at all. But most surprising of all, the 3 percent who had written their goals down were earning, on average, ten times as much as the other 97% of graduated combined."
