GNC Question.

I went to GNC the other day and picked myself up an ISO XP 45g Protein tub. My friend recommended I take MEGA MAN Multivitamins but when I got there the sales rep kind of confused me by selling me a GNC Pro Performance (Elite Series) MEGA MULTI which is RICH IN ANTIOXIDANTS. The box is black with a red background of a guys back. It has 180 capsules and states to take 6 tablets daily. I've heard you only take 2 tables if you were on Mega Man.

Am I taking the right product?

Drop the crappy supplements 'cause they don't fucking help with anything. Buy regular, USP certified multivitamins, get ones without iron since you're a man and if you're a true man you'd be eating your red meat and spinach to get iron.

GNC is fucking garbage.

GAR-FUCKING-BAGE.

HGINB 0UJRBDN -9TDNJJ I need to get to sleep. 'night.

Agreed with AI, stop wasting your money at GNC. Any of their products (or similar) can be found online for 1/2 the price. If you MUST buy in person instead of online, print out an online ad, and take it to "Vitamin World". They match all the prices, at least the one here does, and you don't have to wait for shipping. GNC is a rip off!!!

if you are eating enough meat, you won't need to worry about iron.

that's why the blood bank loves me so much.

Agreed, which is why I said to get the kind with 0 mg or iron - only women need all the extra. Men typically get enough.

The only supplements I'd bother with are:

1) Fish oil
2) Multivitamin/mineral
3) Whey
4) Creatine

Go with an omega-3 only product. There are plenty of articles/studies out there if you want more info, but the short explanation is that you already get omega-6 and -9s from your diet, and a 3-6-9 supplement is a less efficient way of raising the ratio of omega-3 to the others.

Cynical is right in that you want to boost your O3 consumption without changing the others. The ideal ratio of Omega 3's to Omega 6's is 1:1.

At the same time, the most beneficial stuff is EPA/DHA, which you get from fish oil directly. Your body can convert omega 3's to EPA/DHA, but the body's conversion ability is terrible so you wind up short-changing yourself.

My recommendation? Get fish oil or fish oil capsules, take 1 gram a day (180mg EPA / 120mg DHA) and be done with it.

Ahhh I was afraid of that. Don't really need more 6 & 9. Good, this jar is almost empty it was time to buy a new one anyways. I suppose it doesn't really matter which type of fish? I've seen cod, salmon, anchovie, and something else I think. Probably just get the cheapest one lol. Hope I'm not burping up salmon like someone mentioned.
