Glycemet/Carbing Up...

Has anyone ever used "Glycemet" by Met-rx ...for their carb-ups. Today, I started the carb-up and realized that I didn't have any ALA. Ordinarily, I order my supplements off the internet, however, I needed it TODAY! So, I headed over to GNC and they had no ALA in pill form (GRR!) ...so, I settled with "Glycemet" (it has 100mg of ALA per serving). Is this stuff any good. One more question...are these legit carb-up foods?
1. Choco Donuts (Cap'n Crunch)
2. Skim Milk
3. Granola Bars
4. Low-fat Icecream
5. Candybars
6. Raisinette's
7. Skittles
8. Spaghetti O's
9. Hersheys Chocolate Syrup
10. Pop-Tarts

-Right now, I'm about 4 hours into my "carb-up" ...I feel like I'm going to explode (thanks to lots of water, cereal, and Ultra-Fuel).

Allowable carbup and refeed foods are simple to find. As long as they are high in carbs and low in fat they are good to go. While it's always good to get in nutritious foods while you're carbing up it's ok to get some naughty foods too. Those choco-donuts sound like they may have some decent fat in them and I know that some chocolate candy bars have a lot of fat. I love butterfingers to death but they tend to have a good amount of fat in them so I won't touch them. Stick to low or non-fat sweets and you'll be fine.

Go to Walmart next time you need ALA and forgot to order it.

It is 6000mg for 6 bucks. Not as cheap as you can find online, but still pretty cheap in my eyes. It is 60 100mg pills by the way.

Try to stick the foods with sucrose or fructose in the beginning of your carb up. Actually, it is ideal to stick the absolute highest GI foods at the beginning. Eating Choco Donuts will do no harm. That is a tasty cereal. Skip the Raisinettes, candybars, skittles, chocolate syrup and possibly low-fat icecream completely. You *could* have some fat free ice cream with chocolate syrup, but it's just not very ideal for a carb up. Spaghetti O's are da bomb. There is also a low-fat version of chef boyardee (beef?) raviolli that you should look for. I think the label is more green in color. Lots of starchy pasta --- perfect for the middle/end of your carb-up.

Alright, thanks for all the help. Plornive, kinda' wish I got your reply sooner. By the time I got it I was all hopped up on skittles :(
I decided to just carb up for 24 hours...no longer. I exceeded my fat intake limit by a little...but, I was on target with the carbs. Hopefully, I don't end up getting any fat spill-over. Alright, the sugar buzz is wearing off...nap time.

I read a study on carb-up fat spillover after low-carbing all week and if I remember correctly it seemed anything under about ~88g of fat was ok. When people started going over this number they started putting fat back on. However we're talking about the amount of spill over in grams so a little spillover isn't a big deal. My fat intake during the week and on refeeds is constant and is about 72g. I sometimes go a little over on carb-ups because just getting that many calories in itself makes fat intake go up even without trying.

Trying to carb up or get your ALA from this will give you some serious shits with the 9 grams of fiber per serving. You need 300-600 mg of ALA per meal (so, I've heard, but I do 250 a lot).

I bought this because I needed the fiber. I must say, it tastes pretty good, just like lemonade. Much better than Metamucil.

You're not kidding! Man, I was taking that stuff like nobodies business. I didn't even realize there was 9 grams of fiber per serving until you pointed it out! The flood-gates were opened up back there yesterday...WOOOO-DOGGY!
