Glucosamine, anyone use it?

I decided to start training for a marathon. According to the studies I read on the web it sounds like something worth taking. However, some things that look good on paper don't pan out.

I would like to know if there is anyone here that had any success or lack thereof with glucosamine. Thanks in advance.

I would imagine marathon runners have a lot of pressure on their knee/ankle/shin joints with the constant pounding of the pavement in which case glyco (or some other type of joint support) would be a good choice. Do you have any thype of that kind of pain or are you trying to pre-emt any issues?

I like the brocolli thingy EZ_E!

Its more preventive. I did the long distance gig about 8 years ago and an MRI showed slightly torn cartiledge. Not enough for surgery thank God. As time went on i ran for maybe 3-4 miles off and on without incident. I wonder if the torn area had fully recuped in 8 years?

I have worked up to 8, 10 minute miles and only feel a slight dull ache in that same area at brief times during the day so i do have some concern.

Hmmmmm, interesting. You got me, but some of the veterans should be able to help you out with this, lots of knowledgeable bros on EF.....

I recently had shoulder surgery, and for a few months after my shoulder was really bothering me.
I was starting to lift because I could, and it wasn't the weight that was a problem, it was just breaking in my shoulder.
So this doesn't have anything to do with running a marathon but I started supplementing GLUCO/MSM/C. No fucking around, I felt it helped within a day, now I dont need narcotics, and im starting a grow again.

Gluco/MSM/Chon. and any other usual joint relief mixture will work well. I use it because im always lifting heavy which kills my joints and it definitely helps with the pain.
