Kinda funny how you are trolling/baiting with your incessant "India and China" references. Why did you ever introduce that anyway? You are the only one I think... and yeah, the US is great! We are fortunate to be here. Happy July 4th, when it comes up anyway.
Actually beyond late term abortions, since China has basically zero population growth they provide incentives for women to not get pregnant at all and penalties for women who have more than one baby.
See, I don't understand the whole uproar over abortion for people who have a spiritual mindset. Spirit is eternal and indestructable, right? Since the soul hasn't had a chance to be sullied by mortal life the soul of an aborted fetus should shoot straight to heaven to eternal bliss in the arms of the Lord (if you're of that belief inclination).
The church has historically had problems with abortion because it's about control. Take away a woman's control over her own reproduction, take away her control in the relationship, and she is absolutely controlled, subservient to the male.
You know, women always knew about herbal abortificants, it's been postulated that was one of the reasons the church elimated women (as witches), they knew how to use herbs to prevent and end pregnancy (granted, not as reliably as our drugs today). I particularly love (not) the stories of the missionaries who would beat Native American women who miscarried, they were soundly convinced the women did it to themselves to prevent a baby being born to be controlled by them.
Take away abortion rights, you are not only giving rights to unborn human lives, you are removing them from existing human beings. In my world, a woman's body belongs to her, as does the life of the fetus. It is hers alone to bring to fruition or not.
But then, I believe "God" also has a vagina.
