Given how many abortion doctors are killed (not that many)...

Damn, where are all the right-to-lifers when the going gets tough? I 'spose they are busy picketting, bombing and plotting more murders in the good ole US of A where their ridiculous self-righteous BULLSHIT is even given consideration. Lousy piss-poor excuses for human beings don't get how lucky they truly are that they live in a part of the world where they *get the chance* to be pious.

not taking your continuous baiting or ridiculous necessity to incessantly argue with people about things you'll never change.

Change begins with one. :supercool

We can agree to disagree. If you think abortion is immoral then don't have one. How hard is that?

Having said that, what about India and China and places like that?. You saying that all of them are going to hell? Or that they are poor so who gives a rat's ass?

Kinda funny how you are trolling/baiting with your incessant "India and China" references. Why did you ever introduce that anyway? You are the only one I think... and yeah, the US is great! We are fortunate to be here. Happy July 4th, when it comes up anyway.

Actually beyond late term abortions, since China has basically zero population growth they provide incentives for women to not get pregnant at all and penalties for women who have more than one baby.

See, I don't understand the whole uproar over abortion for people who have a spiritual mindset. Spirit is eternal and indestructable, right? Since the soul hasn't had a chance to be sullied by mortal life the soul of an aborted fetus should shoot straight to heaven to eternal bliss in the arms of the Lord (if you're of that belief inclination).

The church has historically had problems with abortion because it's about control. Take away a woman's control over her own reproduction, take away her control in the relationship, and she is absolutely controlled, subservient to the male.

You know, women always knew about herbal abortificants, it's been postulated that was one of the reasons the church elimated women (as witches), they knew how to use herbs to prevent and end pregnancy (granted, not as reliably as our drugs today). I particularly love (not) the stories of the missionaries who would beat Native American women who miscarried, they were soundly convinced the women did it to themselves to prevent a baby being born to be controlled by them.

Take away abortion rights, you are not only giving rights to unborn human lives, you are removing them from existing human beings. In my world, a woman's body belongs to her, as does the life of the fetus. It is hers alone to bring to fruition or not.

But then, I believe "God" also has a vagina.

The moment taxpayer dollars go to pay for an abortion, you just sold every American the right to vote on the subject. Want to buttress that argument? Argue against federally (or state)-funded abortions.

I totally agree that what someone privately does is none of my business. But if I'm subsidizing any portion of what they are doing, then it becomes my business.

Well, look at it this way, Plunk, abortion is WAY cheaper than welfare, particularly more than one generation of welfare ...

I have a lot of problems with how my tax dollars are spent, I don't like war, I do like education. I bet there's people out there that resent paying for medicare and Social Security. We all have shit that pisses us off. Suck it up or move is the retort on this board.

As things stand, you either have the choice of convincing enough people to vote the way you believe or get really good at assasination :whatever:

But we don't have to suck it up. Using a vote as leverage is always a time-tested tradition. I'm fine with private abortions being exactly that -- private. But now, they are quite the public affair
